Feedback on NanoMECommons Openday 2024

D-STANDART at nanoMECommons OpenDay 2024: Last week Julian DeMarchi, leading the digital threads development within D-STANDART for NLR, was invited for a talk about the application of CHADA to composite materials testing during the second exploitation and dissemination workshop of the #NanoMECommons H2020 project.

First-hand testimonials from Julian DeMarchi:
The nanoMECommons OpenDay 2024 presented a unique opportunity for the D-STANDART project to highlight its activities and involvement with the CENELEC CWA 17815 update on the CHADA materials characterization process and template. After the update is adopted, it improves the ability to extend and tailor CHADA to domain-specific purposes including mesoscale composites testing, and thereby represents a significant step forward for test houses to deliver material characterization results compliant with EMMO and CHAMEO ontologies.”

D-STANDART is recognized for providing unique and tangible input into the CHADA update, including concrete examples for composite materials characterization, which will be included for domain -specific guidance within our field of application. This effort leverages the lessons learned within D-STANDART to help pave the way for more FAIR data-based appraisal and dissemination of composite materials testing-based structural characterization results, and methodologies, for broad exploitation by European researchers and industrial innovators seeking to extend the fatigue lifetimes of their products.”
