This study is two-fold and will lead to an estimate of the potential Social Return on Investment (SROI) from durability improvement, alongside with recommendations as to how such estimates can be more easily and accurately arrived at in the future.
All data is anonymous and results will only be used within the scope of the D-STANDART project, in order to enhance academic and industry knowledge on the above and provide relevant inputs for the European Commission. Your experience is of utmost value, so we kindly ask you to share it with us.
We thank you in advance for participating in these surveys !

The purpose of this first part of the study is to understand the degree of importance that the public attaches to sustainability considerations when forming their attitudes to technological solutions.
The wind and aerospace industries expend significant effort in reducing their ecological footprint, much of it funded by government research. For significant change to occur, a demand for change must be met by the supply of a solution for change. Current research deals well with the supply side of the implementation equation by putting solutions on the shelf. However, it does not deal well with the demand side of the equation, which involves lumping together regulatory requirements with public pressure to create a demand for change.
This small study aims to understand the underpinning attitudes of the public towards sustainability in technological developments, with a view to developing future strategies to maximise public market pressure on the industries to transform: willingness-to-accept and willingness-to-pay.

The purpose of this last part is to get a flavour economic benefits of the D-STANDART value-chain, evaluate current best practices in S-LCA, understand barriers to implementation of durability and Lifecycle MDO.
